The boys were straight into it, with Jon Marco going straight for the take down after both throwing some random combos. Jon maintained Nick on the ropes and took him down with a single leg. The fight then moved to the corner on the ground with Jon raining down some big body shots, Nick defended well, at one stage going for a kumora, Jon slipped that and passed Nick’s guard. Nick almost got to his feet in a good show of strength, but was rolled over with Jon getting a full mount, to begin some heavy ground and pound which won the fight and also gave him fight of the night. Cody came out looking very relaxed against the veteran Andrew, with Andrew then coming out with some leg kicks which were checked nicely by Cody. Both exchanged a few more kicks, Cody came in with a heavy cross and solid leg kick, Andrew responded with a leg kick and roundhouse which both found their mark only to be countered by a solid uppercut, cross by Cody. The boys threw a couple more leg kicks each, and then Cody caught Andrew with a nice left hook sending him to the canvas for the first time. Andrew came back strong, though Cody countered beautifully, throwing some more solid leg kicks hurting Andrew and dropping him again. Cody came straight back again with some more solid uppercuts, again rocking Andrew and sending him down for an 8 count. Cody wasted no time then coming back in with 2 big elbows and a knee to the head, to drop Andrew hard and end the fight in the first round. Congratulations to Cody for another strong performance, and thank you to Andrew for a gutsy effort against a local up and coming champion.
